'Masquerading as a normal person day after day is exhausting.'
I was paging through my quote books the other day trying to find one that I wanted to use on my new blog header. I found quite a lot of good ones, but I was looking for something that I really liked, and I think I found it. But while I was doing that I thought why not start a quote of the day thing here on my blog. Make some use of these books that I have had for quite some time. I really like them and paid for them so here we go. Starting a quote of the day thing, hope you enjoy!
I also thought I might add a few comments each day to the quote. Some opinions, view, or maybe even funny comments. Today it's going to be funny... See, I hope that I am not 'normal'. I try to be a true individual and not to care what other people think of me. I cannot let other people run my life with their opinions and will not. I need to be me for me! Do I masquerade as someone 'normal'? Maybe, maybe not? I probably do sometimes, but if I voice my opinions ALL the time then people might not like me and well I don't want to be not liked by EVERYONE! Well not that a lot of people don't like me...
One would have thought that by having the house to myself for most of Saturday and Sunday that I would have been able to do some serious blogging. When in fact, I didn't blog at all. Sorry all my faithful readers. I was on the computer though, just not the internet. I am working on a slideshow of scrapbook pages for Ayden's birthday party. Yes, I am a cool mom like that who puts a lot of work into something that he probably won't even appreciate, but I know that everyone else will really like it. I've been working on a lot of pages and the slideshow itself. My hope is that I can get it onto a DVD and will be able to play it on the TV during the party. I even have some music picked out that I want to add to it. I am not able to make DVDs on my computer, but my mom's husband Jim can on his so he is going to see if he can get something to work for me. But first I need to finish the pages. I have about 15 done so far and would like to get about 50. A lot, I know, but I have about a month. I have two songs that I want to play that add up to about 5 or 6 minutes long. And I just did a little bit of math, OMG, we do use it outside of school, lol... and I will need 50 scrapbook slides and 60 just pictures and then everything should work out how I want it to! But of course being the perfectionist that I am, it will also require lots of time on my part. Time I should be using to study for the GRE.
Seriously though people, it is just SO NICE to not have to worry about homework or tests during the summer that I want to relish every minute of it, but then here's this test and I really need to do good on. Ugh, the conflictions of the mind. Also, I heard from my boss today that the book that I want is out at some store so I'm anxiously awaiting a moment when I can dash over to that store to see if it is really out. And if so, of course purchase it on the spot. Is it really going to be that good of a week? Who knows? But if it is, then I will probably be lost in the book for a good two or three days just to get it done. Ah, the love of Edward and Bella! Lol, I know I'm crazy, you don't have to tell me, but isn't that what actracts you and makes you keep coming back to read this? What fun would it be if I was 'normal' like lots of other people. How interesting would life be then?
Later... guess what? My book is not out yet. The book that my boss was talking about was another one released by the same author earlier in the summer. Darn, huh? Got me all excited for nothing, but that's okay. I also bought a book for Ayden while at the book store, but then decided against it and then went to Target and almost bought some books for me there and then put them back. They looked like really good books, but didn't need to spend the money. I decided to just look for them at the library a little later in the day when Ayden and I went.
After I picked Ayden up from daycare we went and fed the ducks and geese. They flocked towards us even before they knew we had anything to feed them. It was too funny, they are so used to people feeding them. The geese were really funny, but I didn't let Ayden get too close to them because they can get mean. The bread lasted us for a while and then it was off to the library. I found two good books there and picked a few more out for Ayden.
Ayden did take a late nap today which was nice. Means he is not crabby tonight, yeah! We went to Mickey D's for supper. Jay was originally going to make potatoes on the grill, but he got home from work a little later than expected and Ayden asked to go so nicely. It was the cutest thing so I said yes. Besides, we haven't been to McDonalds in a long time so I thought why not. Although, I would prefer Arby's over them that's okay. McDonalds food is okay, but you can definitely taste the fat in it. Or maybe it's just me feeling a little fatter after I eat it. In any case, can't have my kid growing up and not knowing what McDonalds is, can I? And of course he got a happy meal!
More good news and not so good news of the day... I got to order my jewlery that I've wanted for a while now from Lia Sophia. I am so excited for it to come in (hopefully within the next couple of weeks) and to be able to wear it and I'd like to think that I got a pretty good deal. With the jewlery credits that I had, my total price was less than the most expensive piece that I was getting, which of course I got for half price. LOVE IT! But the bad news is, my purse strap broke today... of all days, eh? Good thing my sister is having a purse party at the end of this month. Now I will have a valid excuse for buying a new one. I am going to make due with this one for now and try and pin the strap back into place for the next few weeks and then check out all the cool purses at the party and see if they have any good ones. I hope so! My sister said they do and is excited about it and she said that they are not super expensive either.
Oh, and guess what? I got the music to load on the slideshow thing that I am working on tonight! I am so happy about that, but now I'm not so sure the whole DVD thing is going to work out like I want it to. Time will tell on that one.
On a more sour note, I hung up on my friend the other day. She called and I listened to her, did the good friend thing, I mean I do like hearing her stories and all that good junk, but then I started in on something and I swear not even 10 seconds into the story I hear her start texting. I mean seriously, can you not wait until we are done talking? Am I that boring and is my life really that unimportant to you? Sorry I don't go out all the time and that most of my stories are about Ayden, but that is my life. Deal with it or stop being my friend... make me feel like you care about hearing what I have to say once in a while. So what did I do, I hung up! I know, not very nice, but this is definitely not the first time that she has done this and I was getting very pissed off about it. Then she texts me asking what happened and I tell her what I did and why and I haven't heard from her since. I am not making the first move to talk to her either. Why should I? She doesn't listen to anything I have to say anyways.
Enough about that. A carpet repairman is supposed to be coming to our apartment sometime tomorrow or Wednesday to fix some areas on our carpet. The manager will be coming in with him so there will not be a stranger in our house alone. All fine and dandy, but I kind of wish I knew when they would be here because Ayden and I are here all afternoon. And not that we cannot be here while they are, but it kind of makes for an uncomfortable situation. Okay, maybe just for me. Not really all for the stranger thing. Well, I know the manager, well know who he is, but don't know him personally. At least we will be getting the areas in our carpet fixed that have needed to be fixed since we moved in over a year ago.
That's all for now. CIAO! LOVE ME!

Swimming Again!
Jack... we went to the pool AGAIN today! Three times this week and this time Jay was able to come with us. That was nice and I think that he really enjoyed himself as well. I know that Ayden enjoyed the fact that Jay was with us too. He was so excited to show Daddy that he could jump in (holding Mommy's hands of course) and that he could put his head under all by himself. It was cute to see them interacting together. I always love watching that. :) Plus, the weather was so nice as well so the water was pretty warm. Ayden kept saying that we needed to get him some goggles so after the pool we went to Walmart to look for some. We had to go there anyway for some groceries and a few other things. We found some goggles, cheap ones, and when I tried them on Ayden today after we got home they fit, but I don't think they will work. I don't know I guess. We will have to wait and see. And it's not as if he is going to be using them for actually swimming or staying under the water for a long time. So for the price that we paid, which was like a dollar, they will work for me. Maybe he will grow up to really like swimming. That would be cool... already forseeing the future for him, lol!
It stormed out this morning and woke me up. Kind of annoying, but I like listening to them anyways. Kind of soothing, just not at 6am when I am trying to get as much sleep as I can. But Ayden let me sleep in for a little while at least so that was nice.
I cleaned up the apartment today. It needed a good cleaning, well didn't get to the super cleaning as in dusting, disinfecting, etc... But I put everything away and vaccuumed. That should count for something, shouldn't it? Ayden even helped pick up his toys, with a little persuading. Didn't like the fact that I was doing something else at that time and thought I should be helping him, which I did end up doing so he would stop whining.
He didn't take a nap today and got kind of fiesty while we were waiting for Jay to shower after work to go to the pool. It was like the kid just had a bowl of sugar. I can understand excitement, but he was almost bouncing off the walls. He went to bed good and fell asleep pretty fast which was nice I guess. Just so long as he sleeps in a little bit tomorrow.
Jay and I have been pretty good these past few days which is good. Little arguments, but I think many couples have tifts on a daily basis. You know, minor disagreements that last for like 2 minutes and then it's completely forgotten. No one is perfect and everyone can't get along/ have the same opinion on everything at the same time, right? Didn't think so. So in any case, everything is good again. Love that guy!

Always Changing...
Hi there Jackeroo! It's 'water day' at Ayden's daycare today and I remembered to bring his swim stuff along. They just get out a bunch of waiting (right word?) pools and fill them up and then let the kids play in them. I love Ayden's daycare just for the outside playground. It's mega huge and filled with tons of stuff for the kids to play on. The inside may not be as super huge as some other daycares (personally I think the campus rooms are even smaller, and their outside playground is about a third of the size of Ayden's, glad he didn't end up going there), but the inside rooms at Ayden's daycare are suffice and it's not the size that matters, the quality. And I can tell Ayden loves it there, so I have no qualms.
My sister says that maybe I wouldn't be so happy if I knew what actually went on during the day there. She works at a daycare and has behind the scenes experience. Now, she wasn't saying that they treat the kids bad or anything, but I do get what she's saying. The teachers put on a good front when the parents are around, but even so, I really like the teachers that Ayden has had. They are all very personable and I like that. I do know that I didn't much care for Ayden's first daycare, especially when he was a baby. They seemed to have a set way of doing things and I didn't think it was right for Ayden's schedule. Maybe me being the over protective parent, but I don't know. For example, when he was eating baby food (btw, I worked three days a week and was home the other two with him), when I was home with him, it was bottle right after he woke up, morning cereal/fruit a little later, morning nap, wake up another bottle, little later baby food (lunch), nap time, wake up, bottle... etc... maybe other parents do it differently. But at his daycare they would feed him his baby food and then give him a full bottle right after that. Well what did he do, threw up the bottle most times. Is that how all daycares do it? I don't know... but hmm, you wonder why he's throwing up? He just filled his stomach with baby food, where is the room for the bottle? Am I totally insane here? I was glad when he was done with the whole baby food thing and moved onto solids so we didn't have that problem anymore. I tried to explain it to them, but didn't work.
Anywhoo, the point is, I love his current daycare! And now he's old enough to tell me anything he doesn't like as well and well, he hasn't done that yet so I'm not worried. He doesn't cry or scream when I drop him off so that must mean they are doing something right. And he loves his friends!
I'm going to a friend's house tonight to study for the GRE. Who knows if we will actually get any studying done, but I don't really care. It will be nice to just get out of the house for a bit and have other adult contact. You need that every once in a while and I haven't seen any of my friends from school since it got over in May... but next weekend we are going to Six Flags and I am super excited about that! That will be really nice, as long as it is good weather. No rain and not too hot!
Like, I don't mind going home on the weekends, but it just seems that I have to watch Ayden all that much closer. I don't know why, but at our house he knows what he can and cannot do (both physically and rules wise) where as at other places he doesn't and I need to watch him a little more closely. I know that Jay's parents don't mind keeping an eye on him as well or where ever we happen to be, but its not their responsibility and I don't want to expect other people to have to do it. You know? So when we stay in Point it's more relaxing, first we aren't running all over the place and secondly, we have all of Ayden's toys and stuff here. Plus, usually we can get him to take a nap on the weekends in Point so I get some free time where as at home he hardly ever takes an afternoon nap. Not that he really needs them anymore.
I think Jay and I are over our argument from last night. But in our case it's a lingering thing that only goes away for a short while. It will be back, give it some time. Jay asked what I would do if he gave me an ultimatum last night... him or one of my best friends. How do you chosse between a choice like that? To get him off my case at that point in time I told him that of course I would pick him, but honestly, do I really think that? I don't know... One would think that it would be an easy answer, easy pick, but it's not so easy. Okay, I'm going to stop with this subject now. It's only putting me into a downer mood.
I watched Baby Borrowers again last night and once again it was pretty funny. You already know my opinion on that whole show.
If you haven't already noticed (and if seriously that is the case then you are totally unaware of your surroundings, lol) I've changed my blog yet again. I'm a creature of change and get bored very easily with things. Well, that and I like looking for new things. I came upon a site that had some cool blog templates and tried one out. And the really neat thing was that I didn't have to add all of my elements back on, they just transferred over themselves. Sweet! I also was working with this scrapbooking program that I have and made a new header, although it doesn't quite 'fit' in the box and being the perfectionist that I am, that kind of bugs me (because I got the last one to fit pretty nice) but I don't know what else to do to get it to fit decent so it will just have to stay the way that it is for now. So about that scrapbooking program that I have... I've had it for a while now and do pages here and there when I get some time and/or ambition. Usually I will go through a phase of making a couple of pages and then not touch it for a few weeks. Kind of like my reading books. Tonight I was making some pages and well this program makes my computer run super slow (I would love a new computer, mine is almost five years old and in computer terms, that is old, but probably won't get a new one for a year or two yet because we are too poor to be able to afford one, ugh). Anyways... I had been working on one page for about a half hour, going with the whole perfectionist thing, I monkey around with a lot of different things and because my computer runs slow it takes awhile and I get the page almost done and the program shuts down on me. And me being me hadn't saved the page yet. A half hour down the drain thank you very much. I was kinda bummed, but nothing I can do about it. Apparently something was 'right' with the page, lol. I will try again tomorrow.
This afternoon was kind of lax. I took a bag of Ayden's clothes that no longer fit to a consignment store called Other Mothers and him and I looked around in there for a while. We didn't find anything that I felt we needed to buy and headed off to another consignment store, Nice As New (consignment for everything and not just baby/maternity like Other Mothers). I am looking for a used VSmile Pocket. It's what I'm getting for Ayden for his birthday and would much rather find a used one than pay for a new one because they are kind of pricey, so if I get a used one we can get him more for his birthday. I'm sure if I scoured the rummage sales I could find one, but I'm not that ambitious. I could go tomorrow, but it's supposed to be super hot and humid. Might just have to relax in the air for the day and go to the pool. Don't know yet. In any case, Nice As New didn't have one, but found a race car thing for Ayden for cheap and it was in good condition as I got it for him.
He didn't take a nap today, but he 'rested' in his room and wasn't crabby at all so that was good. I can deal with that. Don't know if he will take one tomorrow either if we go swimming in the afternoon, maybe a really late 'rest'.
My study session was cancelled tonight because only me and one other girl could make it and she got into a minor car accident this morning and just wanted to chill tonight. I was totally fine with that because I can understand how she feels. Car accidents are definitely no fun and make you really want to do nothing for the rest of the day. I haven't talked to her about it so I don't know how bad it was. Well, no injuries I know, but car damage wise.
Okay, sleeping yet? CIAO! LOVE ME!

All By Himself...
Oh Jack... So I totally know that I slacked on writing yesterday, but I really didn’t feel up to it. People are allowed those kind of days, aren’t they? And if not, I am instituting a new rule right this very moment that says they are. Lol! But seriously, I was kind of bumming all night long. I know I could have written before then, but I had a bad headache and all I wanted to do during Ayden’s nap time was take a nap myself. I didn’t actually nap, but I did get a good rest in which eventually took care of the headache. Yeah for the rest. I also found out yesterday that we now get the Lifetime Movie Channel. We never used to get it, but apparently we do now. Another super yeah, like I really need to be watching anymore TV. I guess that I watch enough right now, but I wouldn’t say that it is an over abundance of it. There are a few shows on during the week that I would prefer to watch, but nothing that I would have fit about if I didn’t see it. For example, I didn’t watch Jon and Kate Plus 8 this week and I survived. I also didn’t watch a show I wanted to last night and still I’m here. Pulling through it all pretty well actually, lol!
The reason I was pretty bummed last night had to do with losing a picture. Okay, losing a picture really shouldn’t be that big of a deal, right? I guess, but here’s the thing. I got this picture a few days ago in the mail from a friend and had it in my purse. Last night I took it out of my purse and put it on the kitchen counter inside a recently received letter. More details required… the letter was from Lee and the picture was of him as well. So I put the picture with the letter and left it on the counter. Here’s the thing, when Jay got home and was reading the letter he said there was no picture to be found. Weird, right? Weird because there was so draft in the house to blow the picture out of the letter (it was folded up inside the letter when I set it down), the cat wasn’t on the counter to move it, at least not that I was aware of, and Ayden was sleeping in the afternoon. What happened to the picture?
I have two theories… but no real proof for either of them. First theory… something weird just happened to the picture. Something I can’t quite explain because I’ve looked everywhere I can think to find the picture and it’s not their. Second theory, Jay did something with the picture before he read the letter. I was laying down resting while he read the letter and very easily could have done something with it. However, he acted pretty sincere when he said that there was no picture so I’m having a hard time believing that he did something. I wouldn’t put it completely past him, but I’m pretty sure he didn’t do anything to it. But then what the heck happened to it? Okay, honestly, it was just a wallet sized picture, nothing really, I can always ask for another one, but I would really just like to know what happened to it. But I doubt that that will ever happen. And so that is why I didn’t really feel like writing last night.
Because the weather was pretty nice last night as well, Ayden and I high tailed it off to the pool at 5pm for Tubes n Toys night again. I looked at the family pass and it is $85 for the summer. Way too much than we are willing to spend so I guess that we are just going to have to cut down our pool visits a little. Maybe once a week from now on. We will see… Ayden is already asking to go everyday. I wish we could, but it’s $4.50 each time we go and that adds up. We’ve gone three time already and I plan on going Friday sometime because it is supposed to be really hot and humid then. Perfect time to go to the pool. So, we took our tube last night and had lots of fun. Ayden did some more jumping in, but still needs to hold my hands. That’s okay I guess. He is definitely getting better with his kicking and reaching which is really awesome to watch. And last night he did something I didn’t think he would do for a long time yet. Well just knowing him and the water.
He put his whole head under the water ALL BY HIMSELF! I couldn’t believe it. He saw me go under and then when I came back up he said ‘Mom watch what I can do’ and I figured he would just put his chin and/or nose in, but he covered his fact and went completely under the water. It was so awesome and he was so proud of himself. He did it quite a few times after that and told me to keep doing it as well. Then I told him that we had to stop because the water was starting to make mommy’s eyes hurt. But it was fun none the less. I really like it now that he can touch in the water as well because it makes him more mobile.
Another shocker from last night… Ayden and I were at the table eating supper and somehow we got talking about boats and then our boat ride on the fourth. Well out of the blue he repeats word for word (well almost) a short conversation that Jay and I had had shortly before we turned the boat around. Jay’s mom had told Gerald that maybe he should drive and then I turned to Jay and said that maybe it would be better if his Dad did drive and then Jay told me that no, he wanted his dad up front watching the water. During this time I did not think in the least that Ayden was paying attention to me, much less was even half awake. But apparently he was because he repeated the conversation back to me last night.
But a good end to my day was seeing a preview for Prison Break this fall. It’s the second one that I’ve seen, but the first one did not have a start date. This one did… Labor Day, first episode of Season 4 for Prison Break. And my Wentworth Miller time will start back up. It’s been WAY TOO LONG since they’ve had it on. Stupid writer’s strike and all, but no worries, it is coming back and Sarah is alive and Michael will be reunited with her. Now this is my one show that I NEED to watch. Funny how this sort of show would be the one that I need to watch, and I don’t think it has all completely to do with the show itself, or even Wentworth’s extreme gorgeousness (because lets face it people, hot is just too shallow of a word for him, he definitely falls into the gorgeous category), but at least part of something else. What you may ask… maybe to be divulged at some later point in time. Because, well even though I consider this my ‘journal’ per say, I know that there are people reading this and I’m not quite ready to release every inner feeling to the world. Or at least those who find my life interesting enough to read about it. Maybe someday though.
I got some new sunglasses today, along with two shirts for Ayden (I know, but I couldn't help myself, they were on sale. One T-Rex one and one monster truck one). I was going through Ayden's clothes the other day and he really doesn't have all that much. More shirts than anything else and now he has two more. I couldn't help it though, they were just too cute! I also bought myself a new belly ring. I haven't gotten a new one in forever, like probably since high school and this one was cheap and pretty cute so I got a present for myself. I really shouldn't go shopping by myself, now should I?
So I talked to my best friend again today, and once again... the minute that I start talking about my life I hear her clicking away on her phone (ie: texting). I mean seriously, I sit and listen to her and offer advice and be a good friend, but then when I start talking about something in my life, it's just not that important to her and she has to do something else. Honestly, what kind of best friend is that? I should just start texting somebody when she starts talking to me. Think she would get the hint? Probably not, that is just the way she is most of the time.
Jay and I had one of our 'famous' arguments tonight. Same old thing that didn't get us anywhere, but wasn't expecting it to anyways. Someday we might get past this all, but not today. Oh well... I'm done being mad, not so sure about him.

Monday Monotomy...
Jackers... today was pretty much like any other Monday, except it was so scorching humid and hot outside today. So hot that Ayden and I went to the public pool this afternoon after I picked him up from daycare. Even though we weren't allowed to bring tubes along this time, Ayden was able to touch in the very shallow end of the pool and not go under. That helped a lot because he didn't have to be constantly clutched onto me. We even practice jumping in, but he wasn't too keen on doing it by himself. He always wanted to hold onto my hands. I was fine with that. I had to keep telling him to put his feet down when he jumped in though so he wouldn't go under. He was getting the hang of it. We stayed for about an hour and then headed home.
At home Ayden had a bit of a rest time watching a movie. I didn't think he would take a nap which was fine with me so long as he rested which he did. I talked on the phone to Niki for a while, but got kind of irked when she started texting while we were talking. There's nothing like being able to hear someone hitting the buttons and then stop talking to you all together so they can get their text typed. Seriously, kind of rude. Oh well...
I went to the doctor today to get my titers, tetnus shot, and TB test done for practicum this fall. Got poked three times with a needles... not so much fun, but I survived. Although, my arm hurts pretty bad already from the tetnus shot. Hopefully it goes away in a few days. I have to go back on Wednesday to see how the TB test reads, but I'm not too worried. Don't really think I have tuberculuous (sp?) but I guess you never know.
We went to Alltel tonight to see if they could do anything about Jay's phone because it has been acting up lately. We can renew our contract and get new phones at the earliest on August 30th, but we thought maybe since it was kind of close to that date we could get a new phone for Jay at least without having to submit an insurance claim and paying the $50 deductible, but the earliest earliest they said they could do it was 107 days before our contract runs up. So they gave us an extra 17 days, but that still is about a month and a half away from now. Jay said he would just try and deal with his phone until then and not waste the money right now. It's been dropping calls lately and acting up the past couple of days. We will see how it goes I guess...
We also went to Walmart and did a bit of grocery shopping and then came home. Right now we are watching Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. We DVR'd it the other night and didn't get to watch it then. I am missing Jon and Kate Plus 8, but I know they will replay the episode at a different time so I'm not too worried. All is well...
If the weather is good we might go to the pool tomorrow night as well. I found out that on Saturdays from 10am until noon it is free so that just might come in handy.
