MONDAY!!!!!

And that means… wait for it… wait for it… NOT ME’S!!! If by any chance you haven’t stumbled upon it before, you HAVE to head over to MckMama’s and check out what this thing is all about because your week would just not be complete without getting some joy from all of the Not Me’s!

Without further ado, here are my Not Me’s for the week!

First off, it is not 7:30am on Monday morning and there are not over 150 other people already linked to MckMama’s site with their Not Me’s. I mean, who has time to do their Not Me’s that early in the morning?! Certainly NOT ME! I am so not sitting at my computer enjoying a few minutes before we have to head out of the door this morning!

This past week did not seem to so super slow and I was not constantly thinking it was the weekend and I should get ahead start on my Not Me’s. I always right them on Monday’s and can definitely remember EVERYTHING I didn’t do over the past week.

I did not cuddle on the couch with Ayden yesterday for almost a whole HALF HOUR! I does not count that he had just gotten up from his nap and was still waking up! I did not relish EVERY second and definitely did not take his hand in mine and did not remember when he was so little and would wrap his fingers around mine.

I did not finish book number 7 in the Sookie Stackhouse series. I did not read the whole series in two weeks. That was not about 2100 pages, which does not amount to an average of 150 pages per day.

I did not have to stop my Not Me's this morning because Ayden wanted to play a quick game with me on the computer. I do not give in to those precious looks from my child, what kind of mother would that make me?! Lol! Because I didn't have to stop my Not Me's, of course the list at MckMama's did not grow even longer before I was able to link up! No way something like that could or even would happen!

I was not at the edge of my seat on Saturday night when we Jay was driving home because the roads were so slick. I did not pray the whole way that we would make it home in one piece. I was a totally awesome passengar driver and kept my mouth shut the entire way home, even when Jay decided to take some back roads. And to top it off, I did not cringe at every curve because Hwy 10 is certainly not full of them and I did not fear we would go careening off one of them. Jay was not an excellent driver and we did not make it home in one piece safe and sound. Oh... and one more thing... while we were going so slow, Ayden did not ask if we were going slow because we were running out of gas! He did not get that from a boat ride we went on this summer where we definitely had enough gas and didn't accidently run out! My son does not have a super great memory and forgets EVERYTHING that happens like that!

I did not expermiment with something new for supper last night and it did not turn out great. It was not something super easy and totally unoriginal, but hey, for someone who cooks all the time... it was NOT a great stride. I did not use both the stove and the oven for the same dish! How amazing is that! Lol!

I did not call my mom (who works part time at Walmart) to see if she could get first pick of the incoming Wii Fits. I am not that obsessed with trying to find one! She did not call me back and tell me that her store didn't have the slightest clue when they might be coming in next. I was not super sad and do not have to continue looking.

I do not feel a cold coming on... I have not been sneezing and blow my nose all morning long! I am not worried that it might actually be a cold and I really might be getting sick! Argh!

Christmas OVER

I can finally say Christmas is over for us here in Point. We took down all of our Christmas decorations and packed them away for yet another year. We probably could have left them up for a little while longer, but we had the time today and I was moderately in the mood to do it. Jay took all of the ornaments of the tree and I packed them into their respective boxes. We also put many of our presents away. There are a few toys laying around, but everything is pretty much back to normal around here, minus a few picture frames that need to be put back up in our TV stand.

Our day wasn’t compromised of too much stuff today. Ayden and I played some I Spy Go Fish and threw his Nerf football around for a little while. He was getting really good at catching it and throwing it pretty well too. I told him that when it got warmer out we would be able to go outside and play some real football since he wanted to tackle me and run with the ball. Not a whole lot of room in our place to do that and I really don’t want to break anything.

Speaking of breaking things (nice segway- spelt right, I don’t know-) but our toilet was broken for a few hours today. Lately it has been acting up a little bit and when you would flush it something in the tank would get hung up and the toilet would run continuously. Well today Jay finally broke it… he said he needed to get a piece or two from Mills, which totaled about a whole $6 and started to fix it. He has having Ayden helping him and I guess Ayden must have pulled too hard on something and broke another thing. Back to Mills Jay went for yet another piece and $5 more we had a fixed toilet. It works all better now and we should not be having any more problems. Seeing we live in an apartment, I’m sure we could have called the manager to come fix it because technically I don’t think we are liable for things like that (but don’t really know), but seeing it is the weekend, we would probably have been hard pressed to get a hold of them and they would have had to go purchase the parts and it would just have taken a lot longer. It was an easy an inexpensive fix… and I’m glad that Jay is able to do things like that because I would have had no idea what to do!

Yesterday we had the ornament exchange in Oshkosh and ran into some pretty bad weather on our drive home. What normally should have taken us about 45 minutes took us almost two hours! Main reason for that… freezing rain and MAJOR icy roads! We drove about 30-35mph the whole way! And then great decision maker Jay decided he wanted to take some back roads for a portion because he thought it would be a little faster… lol… needless to say, of course they were worse than the main roads, but I guess the plus of MANY fewer cars was good. We made it home fine, but not without some worries from me! I’m a really bad passenger driver (well at least with Jay). I’m just worried about my safety I guess… maybe… probably overly worried.

Two more weeks off and then classes start again! I’m kind of getting excited and getting a little nervous about clinic again. More so about my audiology one because I’ve made it through a semester of speech already and this semester I’ve been told that I will be paired with someone. I’m anxious to see who that will be and who my supervisor will be because it is always a little nerve wracking learning the ropes of a new professor. I also have a night class and I’m wondering how I am going to make it through that. Should be fine, but I get bored fast enough with a 50 minute class and this one is going to be a 2 1/2 hour class. What was I thinking, lol!

Ayden gets to go back to school tomorrow. The last week they didn’t have a lot of kids at daycare and I think that Ayden is excited to really get to see his friends again because he hasn’t been able to play with a lot of them in about three weeks now.

I watched the Mama Mia movie yesterday as well! It was a little too musical for me, but it was to be expected. Other than one or two more songs than I thought was necessary, it was a pretty good movie. I’m glad that I watched it!

aaahhhh….hmmm….ummm…

Not so sure what I should use as a title for this post… kind of in a blah mood right now and have been for the better part of the day, at least during the points where I haven’t been reading or playing Wii with Ayden. It is fun to be able to do something with him that is semi active and not outside in the cold. Have I ever told you that I am not a big fan of the cold and my son LOVES being outside?!

Luckily (or maybe it is just me), I have avoided most of the outside activity with Ayden this winter so far. A lot of the days have just been TOO cold to go out and many others we were busy with school and we were gone for the holidays. Plus, I’m sure we have LOTS of winter left so we will for sure get outside at some point.

There is this awesome hill here in Point that people like to go sledding at, but we haven’t been yet. I’ve heard it is pretty busy and I would much rather go back to our hometown and go at the hill by the football field with my sisters (after four years it is still weird to say sisters… most of the time I use sister and Alexis, dunno) and brother. Ayden is at the age where he can pretty much walk up at least half of the hill and then I sort of drag him up the rest. We use tubes as well and we fly down the hill and it is SO MUCH FUN!!! We have a little bit of video from the first year we went when Ayden was just over one I think, or maybe it was two, I cannot remember. Either way, he loves it! It is just too bad that we don’t live closer because we miss our family so much!

Tomorrow is the ornament exchange on Jay’s mom’s side of the family. Ayden gets to see Baden (who is exactly two months older than him) and they always have fun together. They both got cameras for Christmas and I am sure they will have tons of fun with them tomorrow. As well, Jay wants to bring the Wii along and see them play it together. Should be a good time!

As for tonight, I think I am going to try and finish up my book… after Ayden goes to bed. Only about 60-70 pages left so shouldn’t be much more than an hour of reading. I dreamt about it last night, kind of a good dream because I had three wannabe boyfriends in it, lol… know I’ve been reading TOO much when I start dreaming that I am the main character in the book! And then I got the movie Mama Mia from Red Box today and will maybe watch that.

My head has been feeling kind of weird lately… hope it goes away soon!

Hug and smooch, hug and smooch…

Those are my favorite words to here from Ayden and he has been saying them an awful lot lately. Out of the blue he will come up to me or Jay and say ‘I want a hug and smooch’ and of course who could turn that down! I love that he isn’t getting to that stage yet where he doesn’t like his mommy and daddy and I am all too well aware that he will get there in the blink of an eye.

Last night I was relaxing on the couch and he came up to me and asked if he could lay next to me. He told me that he always cuddles up next to me and likes to lay with mommy. It lasted for maybe a whole five minutes before he said that he was done, but I totally loved those whole five minutes! I love anytime that he wants to sit by me, be by me, is loving on his mommy. Because like I said, I know that all too soon it will stop. I’ll take it while I can get it!

Our New Year’s Eve was rather drab, but I’m not complaining about it. I was in bed by 9pm and sleeping by 10:30pm. No, I did not lay awake for an hour and a half, I first turned the TV off at 10pm. I was really kind of tired, despite not really doing anything yesterday. Ayden was asleep shortly after 9pm as he didn’t have a nap yesterday and Jay wasn’t tired because he slept half of the day away. He ended up sleeping on the couch, of his own volition. He said that he didn’t want to come into the bedroom at like 2am and wake me up and keep me awake as he tried to get to sleep. That was really nice of him, although I woke up at 4am and wondered if he was still playing his computer game. Hopefully tonight he can get to sleep better.

Today really seems like a Friday and it is hard to believe that I have to get up for work tomorrow, ugh… oh well though…

Jay’s parents did come visit us today, however his brother stayed at home. His mom was really excited to see that we got the Wii and actually said that she was considering getting one as well. She has also heard good things about Wii Fit and wants it too! We played some bowling and had a good time and by the time that they were ready to leave she was even more excited about it. And it was totally cute watching Ayden show them how to work everything.

Tonight we went out for supper at the Golden Corral. Usually it is super yummy, but tonight it was only okay, well for the price I guess. After that we stopped at Best Buy, to check yet again for Mario Kart and Wii Fit (a little obsessed to try and find them, yes… but Best Buy was like right next to Golden Corral so we didn’t make an extra special trip). Jay talked to the guy and he said that the trucks usually come in on Tuesday and Thursday nights (however today being a holiday it didn’t) so I told Jay he might have to get over there on Wednesday morning if he doesn’t have to work. So, instead of finding Mario Kart or Wii Fit, we found a different racing game… a monster truck one that was only $20 and came with a wheel. Of course we couldn’t pass that up (not that Ayden was going to let us, if he could) and have been playing that tonight. Actually, for the money (because most of the games are like $50) I am pretty happy with it.

And because I took some awesome pictures today (courtesy of Jay’s tripod)… I thought I would share one with you. They actually turned out really pretty great and I was super excited! And because our Christmas tree is so huge small, you can’t even see it!
